Nintendo announced Metroid Ravenous during their Direct showcase. The newest mainline entry in the sci-fi action series will be a Switch 2 exclusive and will be released on January 28, 2027. Pricing starts at $59.99 for the digital edition, $69.99 for a physical copy, and $119.99 for a Special Edition that is listed on Nintendo of America's website.
The footage that Nintendo showed off makes it look like the game continues from 2021's Metroid Dread. The big differences in this new title include a greater focus on melee combat as well as the ability to eat your enemies. Those who wanted vore content from Samus will be eating real good come January. Pun intended.
It’s eat or be eaten for Samus Aran in an all-new 2D adventure, coming to Nintendo Switch 2! Plus, the Metroid Ravenous amiibo collection will release with individual Samus and Chozo Statue figures at launch. A third amiibo in the lineup, Samus (Metroid Suit), will be bundled with a Special Edition that includes the game and a steel game case. Both the standard and special editions launch Jan. 28, 2027, and pre-orders begin later today.
