It's not easy being a fan of the Ratchet & Clank games. The last new entry in the franchise, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, came out back in 2021. It got a PC port in 2023. Prior to the 2021 title, the previous newest entry was a 2016 release. The franchise's main developer, Insomniac Games, is all about Marvel these days, having released three Spider-Man titles since 2020, with a Wolverine title coming in 2026.
At long last, a new Ratchet & Clank game was announced. Finally! Oh, it's so good to see a new game! Unfortunately, this new one is a mobile title.
Specifically, the new Ratchet & Clank game will be a free-to-play multiplayer arena shooter releasing soon for iOS and Android. Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble will let fans use many of the weapons, abilities, and characters from the previous titles in the franchise. While playing, you'll be able to upgrade weapons.
The announcement trailer shows of some of the gameplay. You'll get a look at some of the weaponry and arenas you'll fight in. Every character will have their own special abilities. There will also be various enhanced traversal and movement mechanics as well, such as: Jumping, dashes, rail grinding, hovering, backflips, wall running, gliding, and more.
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is being developed mainly by Oh Bibi alongside Insomniac Games. It'll be published by PlayStation Studios.
And so the wait for a new mainline Ratchet & Clank continues...

Couldn't have put it better myself. it's like the Resi Evil announcement, except THAT franchise does have a major release due in 3 months.
