A 2025 soundtrack on a format popularized in the 1920s for a 2024 remake of a 2001 game.

Konami and Laced Records are teaming up to bring the world a Limited Edition 6LP box set of the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack. This is the soundtrack for the 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2 that features reworked compositions from composer Akira Yamaoka.

Pre-orders are open right now for this 6LP box set via the Laced store. The entire Limited Edition Deluxe set includes 93 tracks that have been "specially mastered for the vinyl format." The set included the Laced-exclusive "opaque brown + red A-side/B-side effect heavyweight LPs and a 32-page art booklet with exclusive liner notes written by Akira Yamaoka." The artwork featured in the box set is by Bloober Team, the development studio that handled the Silent Hill 2 remake for Konami.

I won't lie here: If I had a record player (and the money to spare), I'd probably pick this up. The color scheme on the discs for the Limited Edition Deluxe set look really cool. This specific set retails for $155. There is a normal Deluxe set for the same price that includes the normal black vinyl discs.

If you want a smaller boxset, Konami and Laced also put up a double LP set that features 27 tracks from Silent Hill 2. There is a regular black vinyl version and an exclusive "milky clear heavyweight LP" version. Both of these double LP sets are just $42 each.

These sets are expected to begin shipping in October 2025.
