Capcom announced that both Resident Evil 7 biohazard and Resident Evil 2 (the remake) are coming to Apple hardware starting on July 2nd. Resident Evil 7 will hit the App Store first on July 2, 2024 for the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPads and Mac devices with the M1 chip or newer.

The remake of Resident Evil 2 does not yet have a release date. Capcom is currently developing this title for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Capcom says that both games will "provide console quality experiences running natively on Apple silicon across Apple devices." They will use Apple's MetalFX Upscaling tech to "deliver impressive visuals and remarkable performance on iPhone, ipad, and Mac."

Like the previous releases on Apple hardware, players will once again be able to try the games out with a free download before accessing the rest of the game with a single purchase. Those that buy will see that these are Universal Purchases and allow for cross-progression between iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village were already released on iPhone 15 Pro models, iPads, and Macs with the M-series chips.

The iPhone and iPad versions of Resident Evil 7 biohazard will include enhanced controls with a new Auto Fire feature. This addition provides players with an approachable option to automatically fire weapons after aiming at enemies for a set period of time. Compatible Bluetooth controllers are also supported for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, offering an experience mirroring home consoles.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard will be available for pre-order starting today. The main game and Not A Hero story DLC, where Chris Redfield is on a mission to put the case to rest, will be released together as a bundle. Players can also dive deeper into Ethan Winters’ tale with the Gold Edition upgrade, which expands the game with a variety of optional DLC, including End of Zoe, Banned Footage Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, the 5-Coin Set, Survival Pack, and Madhouse difficulty mode.
