Ubisoft announced on Threads that the game formerly known as Assassin's Creed Codename "Red" is now Assassin's Creed Shadows. This is the upcoming Assassin's Creed game that will take place in Japan, a locale that fans have been wanting to see for over a decade now.

Not only did Ubisoft officially announce this final name for the game to the public, they also announced that Assassin's Creed Shadows will have a world premiere trailer set to debut on May 15, 2024 at 9AM (PT).

Assassin's Creed Shadows was first teased back in September 2022 when Ubisoft shared that the then unreleased Assassin's Creed Mirage would not include any loot box mechanics. So far, we have not seen anything related to Assassin's Creed Shadows outside of the single teaser image, which you can see above. A couple of small leaks have suggested that Assassin's Creed Shadows will be out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (presumably through the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect only).
