Framerate improvements won't be a part of this update.

Capcom says in the "near future" they will release an update for Dragon's Dogma 2 that adds in the ability to start a new game if save data already exists. To those not keeping up on the goings-on for Dragon's Dogma 2, the game released with the inability to easily start a new game if you already created a save. Dragon's Dogma 2 only allows for one save slot and that is it.

The planned update from Capcom will at least allow players to start the game over from scratch if they so choose to do so. What they don't say here is that they will add in additional save slots, so it's probably still going to be limited to that single save.

A few other changes and fixes are being made with this update. There will be some bug fixes, fixes for text display issues, and more. The (supposedly) full changelog for this forthcoming update can be found below. There is no exact release date for this update. Hell, we don't even know if these will all be a part of a single update for the game or will be released a several updates.

Capcom does note that "frame rate improvements" will be coming in future updates. Let us hope that these framerate improvements are mere days away and not weeks or even months away. I say this because Dragon's Dogma 2 is quite a technical mess. The game features extreme swings from being completely CPU bottlenecked to being completely GPU bottlenecked even on the highest-end hardware.

Gamers Nexus shows how NPC heavy areas of the game, namely the main capital city, are extremely CPU bottlenecked no matter what your CPU is. Once you leave that city and get out into the wilderness, the GPU quickly becomes the bottleneck. These performance issues aren't limited to PC either, with the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions of the game often struggling to maintain even a consistent 30 FPS.
