A couple of new time-limited trials are now live for those dishing out the cash for PlayStation Plus Premium subscriptions. First up is a one-hour long trial for the GotY, or "Gollum of the Year." That's right, you too can enjoy an hour in Gollum's well-soiled loincloth with The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.

The other game available, this one with a two-hour long trial, is some small title called Baldur's Gate 3. I don't know, I hear it's kind of good or something. Baldur's Gate 3 is a CRPG with tactical RPG combat. It's got a big story, lots of quests, a great presentation, and everyone wants to screw you in every meaning of the word. Good luck creating a custom character in that two-hour window. Hell, you'll barely make it out of the tutorial in that span of time even if you rush a character. Maybe consider just going with a generic look during the trial and making a proper character if you decide to buy it after the trial ends.

Meanwhile, there is The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. What more can possibly be said about one of the worst games released in 2023 (yet still somehow better than Skull Island: Rise of Kong and The Walking Dead: Destinies). Gollum features bad stealth gameplay, very bad platforming, and is an overall real snooze fest.
