You will need a newer generation console for this, of course.

In honor of the game's fifth anniversary, Ubisoft rolled out a new 60fps patch for Far Cry 5. This update, out now on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will allow you to run the game at a much higher framerate than what you were used to seeing on consoles.

This 60fps update doesn't seem to include anything else. Meaning, you won't see any next-gen graphical bells and whistles here. I am reading from some users over on r/FarCry that the game received an unannounced resolution bump along with the framerate bump. The Series S version apparently runs at 1080p max, Series X maxes out at 2160, and PS5 maxes out at 1620. It's not particularly clear why the PS5 is at a much lower max resolution than the Series X.

If you have not yet tried Far Cry 5 in any capacity, Ubisoft is offering a free weekend for the game. From March 23-27 you can play Far Cry 5 for free on "all consoles" along with PC.
