Far Cry 5 Receives 60fps Patch on Xbox and PlayStation

You will need a newer generation console for this, of course.

In honor of the game's fifth anniversary, Ubisoft rolled out a new 60fps patch for Far Cry 5. This update, out now on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will allow you to run the game at a much higher framerate than what you were used to seeing on consoles.

This 60fps update doesn't seem to include anything else. Meaning, you won't see any next-gen graphical bells and whistles here. I am reading from some users...

PSA: Far Cry 5 is Free for the Weekend

    Get those preloads started now.

Everybody likes free. That seems to be something that Ubisoft is aware of because they're making Far Cry 5 available to play for free this weekend. You can play it for free via either the Epic Games Store or Ubisoft Connect on PC. You can also play during the free weekend on Xbox, PlayStation, and Stadia. Yeah, it's strangely not going to be available for free on Steam, which is a platform known for its free weekends. Weird.

    Anyway, the...

Far Cry 6 DLC Announced - Play as Villains from Previous Games

Also, get Blood Dragon yet again.

Ubisoft revealed their post-launch content plans for Far Cry 6 today during their E3 conference. This content is almost as unusual as when they released Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, which was also a part of this post-launch release plans.

Ubisoft plans on releasing DLC that lets you play as the villains from Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, and Far Cry 5. This means you will be playing as Vass from 3, Pagan Min from 4, and Joseph Seed from 5 in three...

GoldenEye Maps Recreated Fully in Far Cry 5

It took Krollywood over two and a half years to finish.

Though I have never used it myself, I have heard that the level editor for Far Cry 5 allows for some rather detailed creations. And while 1997's GoldenEye probably isn't the most detailed of games by today's standards, it's still mighty damn impressive that someone took the time to faithfully recreate the game's 18 maps, minus the two bonus levels.

YouTube creator "Krollywood" spent the better part of the...

You Spent Over $43 Billion on Video Games in 2018

According to The NPD Group, consumers spent over $43 billion on video games throughout 2018. That marks an 18% increase over 2017 spending. There are a couple of important notes about this. This figure is for both software and hardware. It also does not take into account digital sales since the NPD cannot reliably track digital sales figures.

The best selling title of the year was Red Dead Redemption 2. The second and third best selling titles in 2018 were Call of Duty: Black...

  • Far Cry New Dawn - New Trailer, Crafting Details, and More Gameplay Details Revealed

A bunch of new details came out today from Ubisoft for the upcoming Far Cry New Dawn. This not-quite-a-full-fledged-follow-up to Far Cry 5 is on track for release on February 15 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Far Cry New Dawn takes place 17 years after the rather apocalyptic ending of Far Cry 5. Hope County is once again the main area that you will play in, but it's a Hope County that has been taken over by a lot of colorful wildlife, a group of scavengers called the...

Steam Reveals "Best of 2018" Lists

It's the end of 2018 and you know what that means? No, it's not that. Nor is it that. Ew, stop it. Alright, I'll just tell you instead. It's time for Steam's "Best of 2018" lists! You probably actually guessed that given the title, but that's besides the point. Valve has compiled some lists that take a look back at the games released in 2018. These include the top sellers for the year, the best VR titles, and more! Granted, most of these were probably just automatically compiled...

Far Cry New Dawn Hopes to Deliver Post-Apocalyptic Thrills

Let me preface this news post to say that if you haven't yet beaten Far Cry 5 and are planning on still doing so, don't read this. I'm serious. This game is literally a direct follow-up to the events that took place in Far Cry 5. Don't say I didn't warn you though.

Last night during The Game Awards, Ubisoft announced Far Cry New Dawn, a standalone sequel to Far Cry 5. It once again takes place in Hope County but 17 years following the rather unexpected and explosive ending...

Far Cry 5 Trailer Takes the Fight Against Cultists to the Mountains

A new Far Cry 5 trailer shows off some fresh gameplay. Specifically, it shows off some gameplay taking place in the mountains of Hope County. No, this isn't Far Cry 4, but I can see how you would be confused.

These are the Whitetail Mountains, an area full of trees, ziplines, and plenty of locations to snipe some evil, gun-loving cultists.
Montana's mountain country is a paradise for stealthy players, with plenty of forests to hide in and wingsuit-friendly cliffs for
