This new game is quite the departure from its origins.
Isometric angle showing a dwarf deep in a mine firing off a lot of rounds at evil alien creatures.

Funday Games and their publisher, Ghost Ship Publishing, just announced Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. Gone are the co-op first-person shooter shenanigans that fans have come to know and love from the original Deep Rock Galactic. In Survivor, it's just you versus an onslaught of baddies.

Funday Games is calling this a "survivor-like auto-shooter." You can probably think of this as Vampire Survivors but with aliens instead of vampires. Also, you'll have some more to do in each round, like mining, besides just a focus on survival.

The perspective in Survivor shifts away from the first-person and instead goes to an isometric overhead view. You will still be mining the depths for ores and loot, as well as taking on a bunch of deadly alien life, but you'll just be doing this from a different perspective and without the help of your friends.

A release date and pricing are not yet revealed, but it looks like Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has plans to enter into Early Access on Steam at some point in 2023.

The original Deep Rock Galactic is still trucking along. That game was developed by Ghost Ship Games and published by Coffee Stain Publishing. It's not entirely clear to me how much overlap there is between the original team and the current team working on Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor.
