Microsoft announced that Death Stranding will be hitting PC Game Pass on August 23, 2022. The announcement was made via a cheeky little image posted to the official Game Pass Twitter account.

The tweet, seen below, shows what looks to be Sam "Porter" Bridges carrying a metal case across the landscape. On the case is a green sticker providing the name of the game, Death Stranding, the words "PC GAME PASS" and the date of August 23, 2022. It also says "DO NOT TAMPER" which probably doesn't mean much of anything. People are also losing their mind over what looks like a faded spider logo in the background of the sticker, but that's probably not really indicative of anything either.


Death Stranding was first released in 2019 for the PlayStation 4. It was developed by Kojima Productions but published on PlayStation 4 (and later PlayStation 5) by Sony Interactive Entertainment. A PC release did happen in mid-2020 but that release was published by 505 Games. This could explain why it's only the PC version that is getting the Game Pass treatment and why Death Stranding is not on Xbox platforms.
