After a year of being a timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store, Chivalry 2 is headed to Steam on June 12, 2022. When it releases on Steam, it will be at feature parity with all other versions of the game, include all previous updates released, and will ship alongside the new "Tenosian Invasion" update.
The Torn Banner Studios developed title is already out on Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. A price for the Steam release was not provided, but with the game going for $39.99 (USD; $49.99 for the Special Edition) on other platforms, I have to imagine that will be the MSRP with a chance of there being a Steam launch discount at release.
The Tenosian Invasion update is said to be the "largest and most ambitious content update yet." This update will include a new Tenosian faction, new team objective and team deathmatch maps, armory items, weapon skins, and more.
Perhaps the biggest addition to the game will be horses. Yep, you will be able to mount up on horses and engage in mounted combat.
This update is also pretty cool for console owners of the game. A server browser will be coming to the console releases with the Tenosian Invasion update. Four new maps are also being added, all of which are detailed below.
• The Breach of Baudwyn (Team Objective Map): Tenosians break through a Mason Bulwark with siege equipment, including the new explosive Bombards.
• The Razing of Askandir (Team Objective Map): Masons invade a Tenosian port city, aiming to demolish their lighthouse and burn down their massive library.
• The Charge of Wardenglade (Team Deathmatch Map): The classic open field, now with cavalry!
• Desert (Team Deathmatch Map): A battle on the outskirts of Baudwyn in the dark, cold night.
