On 4/20 there will be one more thing to light up. That's right, I'm talking about a lightsaber! On April 20, 2022 Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Wii edition will be released for the Nintendo Switch. This marks the third time that the game has been released on Nintendo hardware, with the first times being on the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii back in 2008.
Why this game? Why now? Why not release this on the more sensible date of May 4, 2022 which is literally two weeks after April 20th? These are all very good questions.
This release was announced during today's Nintendo Direct. It's being worked on by Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games. You can actually pre-order Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the Switch from the eShop for $19.99 (USD).
I remember this being a really fun game on the PC back in the day. You play as Starkiller, an apprentice to Darth Vader. You get to use a lot of Force powers and engage in a lot of lightsaber fights. I'm sure it'll be great with the Joy-Con motion controls.
Experience an untold story set between Star Wars™ Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars™ Episode IV: A New Hope, wielding the powers of the dark side as a powerful Force user in a battle that will forever shape the galaxy.
