The Game Awards 2021 were held this past Thursday. If you missed some or all of it, I can't blame you. The show, including pre-show, came near the four-hour mark. It featured a bunch of new trailers for games, TV shows, and movies. It included some musical performances that I largely zoned out on while they were going on. It also featured some awards here and there.

It also featured a lot of Geoff Keighley. One of the first things Keighley talked about on Thursday evening was how he and the show condemn the ever-growing list of issues in the gaming industry such as harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct. Keighley did not name anything specific, nor did he mention any specific studio, but he was more than likely referencing the current issues at Activision Blizzard. His remarks seemed rather at odds with the rest of the show that featured promotions for music from Riot Games and a new Star Wars game trailer from Quantic Dream.

Ahem, anyway. How's about those big winners? The absolutely fantastic co-op adventure game from Hazelight Studios, It Takes Two, won this year's Game of the Year award. Other big winners include Forza Horizon 5, Resident Evil, and Deathloop.
