God of War Won the 22nd Annual DICE Awards

The headline reads that God of War won all of the 22nd annual DICE awards as if they took home every award at the show. Well, the game and the team at Sony Santa Monica kind of, almost did precisely that.

Much like our very own and very prestigious game of the year, DICE also determined that God of War was the best game of 2018. In total, God of War won nine different awards at the show. The only other game to take home more than one award last night was Celeste, which won two awards including the Independent Game of the Year.

The full list of winners in each...

    2018 Games of the Year

A week or two ago I took you through some of the games I felt were the worst video games in 2018. There were a variety of reasons included for why those games made that list, ranging from the games just being broken to the games just being boring.

Today, we're going in the opposite direction. Today, we are going to look at some of the best games of 2018. The list, with one exception is in no real particular order. I will try to keep it brief since this is probably already a month out of date by the time this goes live. I only include games that I played here. I do not own...

Fortnite Crowned Game of the Year at 2018 Golden Joystick Awards

The annual Golden Joystick Awards gave out their annual awards this past Friday. None other than Fortnite took home the honors of being crowned the Game of the Year for 2018. Fortnite managed to beat out the competition in a year that included God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2 as part of the nominations. Ignoring the seemingly insignificant detail that Fortnite came out in 2017, the fact remains that the Golden Joystick Award winners are voted on by people like you and me. There's no committee that votes on the winners. The winners are selected by the general public, and the fact is there is a HUGE number of people playing Fortnite on...

Total Gaming Network's Top Games of 2016

2016 was one hell of a year for all the wrong reasons. Due to the always wonderful Electoral College, The United States elected a white supremacist backed jackass as the president elect for the next four years. Hell, the entire election was an unquestionable train wreck for everyone involved. The Internet turned a tragedy into a terrible meme after a gorilla had to be put down at the Cincinnati Zoo. A young boy was killed by an alligator at Walt Disney World. There has been an increase in hate crimes against minority groups within the United States and throughout Europe. Terror attacks once again made headlines. Shootings were also prominent throughout 2016, namely those that happened from interactions with the police. The result of Britain’s vote to “Brexit” from the European Union was met with great disbelief, even from high ranking politicians that supported the move prior to the vote results coming in. 2016 is slated to be the hottest year on record, surpassing the former hottest year on record, 2015. Climate change deniers, many of which will be running our country in 2017, continue to spit in the face of science and facts. As our planet dies so are our beloved celebrities and musicians. 2016 saw a number of icons pass away not from old age but from cancer, disease, or accidents. I know some will find it wrong or even downright terrible to say, but at least 2016 was a decent year for games. Just as people find comfort in a go...
