Remember him? From the single player campaign? Yes, there's a single player campaign for Grand Theft Auto.

Rockstar announced a new expansion for GTA Online that will arrive on December 15. It's called "The Contract" and it will feature Franklin from the single player campaign of Grand Theft Auto V. This content will be set years after the events that took place in the main game's campaign.

Franklin is working with his new celebrity solutions agency, F. Clinton and Partner. Your GTA Online character is introduced to Franklin through Lamar Davis. Radio host DJ Pooh contacts Franklin to suggest to him a potential client: Dr. Dre. Yes, the one and only Dr. Dre will not only be the focus of this content, but he will also have some new music tracks added to the game.

As part of the story, Dr. Dre has lost his phone full of unreleased new music. You are tasked with hunting down the phone and those music tracks and returning them to Dr. Dre. You can do this on your own or with a group.

Rockstar says that you will be working with Franklin, Chop the Dog, and a hacker named Imani. You will visit Franklin's old neighborhood, go to various parties, and even visit the FIB offices to try and get the musical tracks back to Dr. Dre.

There are also supposedly some other big name guest appearances in this content including singer Anderson .Paak and possibly even Snoop Dogg.

Rockstar also says that there is quite a bit of more music being added in the update. They say that there will be "an eclectic new radio station from some very special guest hosts, huge first-of-their-kind updates to existing radio stations including a ton of new and unreleased exclusive tracks from Dr. Dre and a heavy-hitting line-up of artists."

It also looks like there will be new weapons, vehicles, and other content added alongside this main content.

It's not quite the single player expansions we all hoped and dreamt about eight years ago when this game first came out (wow, eight years?), but it's something.
