You ever just sit back and ponder what Sonic the Hedgehog would smell like? He's known for eating chili dogs, so would he smell like that or something else? He also likes running through lush green landscapes, so would he perhaps smell instead like freshly washed laundry drying in a summer breeze? It really makes you think, doesn't it?

Thankfully, Sega is here to save us all from life's greatest mystery. The studio announced and launched their own range of colognes based on three of their more popular franchises. One of those colognes is the "Sonic the Hedgehog 'Blue Blur' Cologne." Priced at a mere £29.99, you too could douse yourself in a scent that has notes of "fresh citrus, grapefruit zest, Caribbean lime, Mediterranean lemon, ocean breeze, melon fade, leather, suede, and cedar."

The store page notes that this is a unisex fragrance and would make for the "perfect gift for any fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise."

Perhaps you're looking for something a bit more "manly." Perhaps you need a scent that has notes of "antique oak, cedarwood, beeswax infused with smoky bourbon, leathery rose, and pimento." If so, then the "Yakuza 'Bourbon and Smoke' Unisex Cologne is the right fit for you.

If neither of those strike your fancy, Sega does have one more trick up their sleeve. They are also offering a cologne based off of the Shenmue franchise. "Shenmue 'Tobacco and Gold' Unisex Cologne" includes a fragrance blend of "cardamom, bergamot, golden tobacco, orris, sage, and patchouli."

These three fragrances seem to be exclusive (for now) to the UK Sega Shop. Whether or not they come to the North American shop is really anybody's guess right now. All three will begin shipping to buyers in December.

As PC Gamer points out, this isn't Sega's first cologne rodeo. They apparently have a number of Yakuza branded colognes out in Japan. There was also a Sonic the Hedgehog Eau de toilette released in the early 1990s.

Sonic Looks Fantastic in New Trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
      by Shawn Zipay
Now this is a good looking hedgehog!

Back in April of this year, the first trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie was unleashed upon the world. I say "unleashed" not because of the terrible Sonic Unleashed game, but because of the unspeakable horrors Sonic's movie design thrust upon an unsuspecting world.

A few days later, the movie's director, Jeff Fowler, said that they were going to make Sonic look less weird. In late May, the movie was officially delay...

Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Trailer Has Some Teeth
      by Shawn Zipay

Sonic the Hedgehog is a movie about a blue hedgehog with oddly long legs that has human teeth.

There is a live-action comedy coming out from Paramount that features Sonic the Hedgehog. Coincidentally, his name is also the name of the movie. This trailer shows us a few things:

First, it shows us that Sonic the Hedgehog has very human teeth. It's weird and kind of creepy.

Secondly, it shows us a Jim Carrey role that allows him to be goofy again....

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog Released on Steam
      by Shawn Zipay
      SEGA DOES WHAT NINTENDON'T.

Sonic the Hedgehog is dead and it's up to you to find out who murdered him! That's the basic premise behind the newly released, free game called The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog. This is a real game that SEGA officially released on Steam today. Did I mention it's free? A free official SEGA game where they kill off Sonic the Hedgehog.

Sometimes, I really like April Fools when companies go out of their way on a "real" joke. This is one...
