A new spinoff of the Yakuza franchise brings back Kazuma Kiryu.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Sega announced a new spin-off game from the mainline Yakuza franchise today. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will feature Kazuma Kiryu in a new "classic high-octane" action game that will fill in what he has been up to between Yakuza 6 and the upcoming Like a Dragon 8.

Year 7 Season 2 for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege will begin on June 7. When it arrives, it will feature a crossover with the Yakuza franchise that probably nobody saw coming.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is busy working on a new project that isn't a new Judgment or Yakuza title.

In a new interview with Famitsu (transcribed by ryokutya), Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio director Masayohi Yokoyama revealed that the studio is planning on creating a new game that is separate from either the Yakuza and Judgment titles.

Yokoyama flat out said, "we're also working on unannounced titles outside of (Yakuza and Judgment)." You really cannot get more definitive...

The company is in "final negotiations" with creator Toshihiro Nagoshi.

The Chinese developer and publisher, NetEase, is reportedly in "final negotiations" with Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi to steal him away from Sega, the company he has been with sine 1989. Bloomberg reports that at NetEase, Nagoshi would build up a new team and develop new games for the company.

As of right now, a final contract and full extent of his duties have not yet been finalized....

Judgment, the action crime thriller from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, is confirmed to be coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Not only that, but it's apparently coming to Google Stadia. All of this will happen on April 23 for a price of $39.99 (USD).

Yakuza franchise developer, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, announced this week that they will hold a special 15th anniversary livestream for the Yakuza series. This stream will take place on December 8. The stream will include a look back on the entire franchise along with including word on "future developments" for the series.

Late last night, Sega announced that Judgment will be released in the Americas and throughout Europe on June 25. This reveal came last night via Twitter along with a few additional details about a pre-order bonus.

This is one of those Fridays where I wish I had checked my work email sooner, because I just saw that there is a demo out now for Yakuza Kiwami 2! PlayStation 4 owners can download the demo right now from the PlayStation Store. According to this email, the demo includes some early parts of the game and also includes a bit of darts, karaoke, some Golf Center activities, and "many more minigames."
