Seth Rogen might be flying solo as Donkey Kong if a new report by Giant Freakin Robot is to be believed. The site says that there will be a new film made with Seth Rogen reprising his role as Donkey Kong that will follow the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie.

Giant Freakin Robot shares this story that was shared with them from one of their "trusted and proven" inside sources. Their sources indicate that Rogen has signed on to take the lead in his own solo movie as Donkey Kong. Keep in mind that Rogen will voice Donkey Kong in the upcoming Mario film. He will be working alongside Chris Pratt as Mario, Anna Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, and many other big name celebrities voicing familiar Nintendo characters.

Rogen's solo project is apparently in development at Illumination, the same studio that brought Despicable Me and the Minions to the big screen. Illumination is also the company that is working on the Super Mario Bros. movie.

If this all pans out, it seems as though Nintendo is keen on creating their own "MCU" or Mario Cinematic Universe. Not to be confused with any other "MCU" that may exist. Those other MCUs are nothing compared to Mario. NOTHING!
