The gang seems to be (almost) all here.

Sony released the first look at the characters for the upcoming Resident Evil film reboot. This isn't exactly the first time we have seen glimpses of the film. Back in December 2020, the film wrapped principal photography and we didn't hear much about the movie until now. However, this is the first time we've been given a good look at the characters we've come to know and love and uh, well... here they are.

The first image shows off Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, played by Avan Jogia and Kaya Scodelario respectively. The second image includes Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker, Char Rook as Richard Aiken, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, and Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield. The third image features Lisa Trevor, played by Marina Mazepa. Barry? Where's Barry?!

The film is written and directed by Johannes Roberts. He said that while he loved the original Resident Evil film with Milla Jovovich, he didn't think it really captured the "scares and atmosphere" of the original games. Roberts says that he worked closely with Capcom on this film to the point that they provided blueprints for the Spencer Mansion and the Raccoon police station. They event went so far as to recreate replicas of artwork seen in the game on the mansion walls.

While the movie will take place during the events of the first two Resident Evil games, it won't be a direct 1:1 retelling of the stories.

"You’ll immediately recognize the creatures from the game but hopefully, we’ve gone beyond the game in terms of making these terrifying creations feel like they really could exist in real life."
Resident Evil will hit theaters on November 24.
