The PlayStation 4 release of Godfall is now available courtesy of Gearbox. While I don't know anybody personally that has been clamoring for Godfall to be released on the PlayStation 4, I'm sure there are some people out there. You know, somewhere. Players on the PS4 and PS5 will be able to party-up together with friends via PlayStation Network.
Godfall is a game where you will battle your way through a bunch of enemies as a Valorian knight. You will fight your way through the various elemental realms of Aperion as you attempt to challenge the mad god, Macros.
The PlayStation 4 release includes all of the previous updates to the game and the new Lightbringer update. There is cross-gen play. There is a free upgrade path from the PS4 version to the PS5 version if they should ever get a PS5.
Also released today is a new full expansion along with a free update available to everyone. The new paid expansion is called Fire & Darkness. The new free update, Lightbringer, adds in a new game mode, endgame matchmaking beta, unique cosmetics, and powerful new loot items.
The paid Fire & Darkness expansion unlocks the new Fire realm. There will be new enemies to fight and new loot to earn. Those that purchased the Deluxe or Ascended versions of the game will get immediate access to this expansion. If you buy it separately, the expansion retails for $19.99 (USD).
Godfall is currently available on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC only through the Epic Games Store.

The Seventh Sanctum’s light has been trapped and the most powerful of knights will be needed to release and spread it. Building up enough strength to face the all-consuming darkness, players will find up to three Tears they will need to close while contending with dark forces. After completing each Tear, they will be offered the opportunity to accept a curse. The more curses selected, the greater the power of your enemies, but if successful, the greater the reward after facing the final challenge. The end phase of the mode will have players fighting unprecedented combinations of enemies.
