Gearbox Software announces that they will be shuttering their forums. The process has already started to happen with old sections being converted to read-only a few days ago.

Gearbox notes that users will have about 30 days to save any old posts they want to keep for whatever reason. Later this summer, it is expected that Gearbox Software will launch a new website and when that time comes, the forums will cease to exist....

The PlayStation 4 release of Godfall is now available courtesy of Gearbox. While I don't know anybody personally that has been clamoring for Godfall to be released on the PlayStation 4, I'm sure there are some people out there. You know, somewhere. Players on the PS4 and PS5 will be able to party-up together with friends via PlayStation Network.

Just as they promised, AMD has launched their FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) feature today for both AMD and Nvidia GPUs. This technology is AMD's own spatial upscaling solution that is open-source and cross-platform. It is designed to boost framerates and allow for "high-quality, high-resolution gaming experiences" in titles that support it.

During their E3 2021 presentation, Gearbox talked a lot about the upcoming Borderlands movie. They again showed off that Tiny Tina's Wonderlands trailer for the third time in the past few days and they showed some Tribes of Midgard footage. The technology is not locked to AMD cards either.

Last night, AMD announced its plans to release FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) starting on June 22. This new technology will act as a competitor to Nvidia's DLSS technology. In short, this technology upscales gameplay from lower resolutions to provide performance benefits at higher resolutions. In some cases, it may even enhance the image quality.

Input buffering has been changed up.

A new update for the Counterplay Games developed action-RPG-looter-slasher-brouhaha known as Godfall was just released. Among the handful of changes in this update is an update to the way the game handles input buffering.

The PlayStation 5 exclusive launch title (also available on PC (affiliate link)), Godfall, is now available for those with a PS5 in hand. The action title is developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox Publishing.

It's billed as a "looter-slasher, melee action-RPG." I think that should tell you that there is plenty of loot to be earned just without the use of guns. It's more of a stabby-stabby sort of game instead...

Xbox Series X|S owners will have to wait.

The launch trailer for Godfall was released today. At the end, in the very fine print, it says that Godfall is a PlayStation 5 console exclusive for a period of six months. Godfall is slated to be released on November 12, 2020, which places the release date for other potential platforms at May 12, 2021.

Counterplay Games and Gearbox announced the minimum and recommended system requirements for their upcoming action, looter-slasher romp, Godfall. The requirements are perhaps on the higher side, with the minimum requiring 12GB of RAM and an i5-6600 CPU.

Alas, what were once great machines in the current-generation of consoles will no longer hold the mustard with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X paving the way...
