A short time ago today, Insomniac Games took to the PlayStation Blog to shed some new light on Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. This includes a reveal of the female protagonist's name alongside a brand new, and downright gorgeous, gameplay trailer.
Insomniac creative director Marcus Smith reveals that the female Lombax first teased in the reveal trailer is named Rivet. That seems to be expected given the whole tool and machinery thing that the series has going on for itself. Rivet is "a Lombax resistance fighter from another dimension, where the evil Emperor Nefarious hunts all those who oppose him."
The new trailer, seen below, shows off some new locations such as Nefarious City, along with alternate-dimension variations of locations like Sargasso and Torren IV. We also get a look at some new weapons and gameplay mechanics.
A Digital Deluxe release of the game was also revealed today. This release includes the game, five unique armor sets, a sticker pack for the game's photo mode, 20 Raritarium (in-game upgrade materials), digital soundtrack, and a digital art book. This Digital Deluxe Edition will be released alongside the base game on June 11, 2021.
