The game will no longer hit its Spring release.
Dying Light 2

Another game has been added to the ever growing list of games delayed in 2020. Techland announced today that Dying Light 2 will no longer be able to meet its planned Spring 2020 release window.

Dying Light 2 has now joined games like Cyberpunk 2077, Marvel's Avengers, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Marvel's Iron Man VR. All of these games have seen delay announcements made within the past week. With how many games are still planned to be released in the next few months, it's not out of the question to think that more delay announcements will be coming soon.

At present, they don't actually have any details to share about when the new release date might be. All they say in the announcement is that they need more development time and that they will share more details "in the coming months." That sounds to me like we might not see Dying Light 2 until at least the second half of the year.

The full announcement from Paweł Marchewka, CEO of Techland, can be found below.

It was a busy year for us as we continued working on our biggest project to date. We know you are awaiting the game eagerly, and we want to deliver exactly what we promised.

We were initially aiming for a Spring 2020 release with Dying Light 2, but unfortunately we need more development time to fulfill our vision. We will have more details to share in the coming months, and will get back to you as soon as we have more information. We apologize for this unwelcome news. Our priority is to deliver an experience that lives up to our own high standards and to the expectations of you, our fans.

Please stay tuned, and thank you to our fans around the world for your continued support, patience, and understanding.
