Square Enix has 18 million reasons to celebrate today. Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida announced that Final Fantasy XIV has surpassed 18 million registered players from around the world. This monumental announcement was revealed in the latest Letter from the Producer live stream.

On top of this, Yoshida also gave fans the first details on what to expect with Patch 5.2. We now know that 5.2 is entitled Echoes of a Fallen Star. More on this below. We also learn that there will be a bunch of global Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festivals held throughout 2020-2021. There is also a new Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers art book and also an upcoming free login campaign in the pipeline for the game.

The Shadowbringers art book is called Final Fantasdy XIV: Shadowbringers The Art of Reflection -Histories Forsaken- and is now available for pre-order. The book, slated to be released in May 2020, is "oversized" with "full-color art" that "showcases hundreds of pages of artwork and will also include a bonus code to redeem an in-game 'Wind-up Dulia-Chai' minion." From the pre-order page on the Square Enix Store, the book will run you $39.99 (USD).
