Halo: Reach is now available on PC. That's something that I never thought I'd be able to say and have it be truthful, but here we are. Halo: Reach was released today for The Master Chief Collection on the Xbox One, Windows 10, and on Steam. For those on the PC, this is the first game released for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
This release sees Halo: Reach playable in 4K (or more on PC) with a number of other graphical improvements in the 9 years since its initial launch. The team at 343 Industries made sure to spend quite a bit of extra time on this one to ensure a smooth release for PC. They have been working pretty hard to make sure not to make the same mistakes they made with the initial launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection in 2014.
So far it seems to be a big success on Steam. It's currently sitting at just shy of 140,000 concurrent players. This figure obviously doesn't include those playing through the Windows 10 Store, on PC via Game Pass (which is just $5 still), or those playing on the Xbox One.
If you do decide to buy the game outright, you should know that it's $9.99 (USD) just for Reach. Every other Halo title will go for $9.99 if purchased individually (except for Halo 3: ODST which will go for $4.99) when they are released. You can also pay for the entirety of The Master Chief Collection for $39.99, which guarantees you immediate access to the remaining games when they're released on the PC. Speaking of which, 343 Industries plans to get the next game, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary out to PC players in early 2020. The other games are planned to be released throughout the rest of 2020.

The multiplayer components of Halo: Reach – including PVP modes, Forge, and Theater – are automatically included as part of the base content offering of Halo: The Master Chief Collection at no additional cost via a game update available today. If you’re new to Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One, you can obtain the entire updated and improved collection with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or with Xbox Game Pass for Console, or purchase through the Microsoft Store for $39.99.
