A trio of fantasy inspired sporting events to be included alongside real-world sports.

Sega announced today that in addition to the real-world sporting events included with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, there will be three fantasy events included as a bonus. These are also in addition to the 10 "2D" stylized events that are also included with the traditional events.

These new events are being called Dream Events. They include things like Dream Shooting, Dream Karate, and Dream Racing. These events just seem to add a bit of arcade style game types that you can enjoy with your friends.

Dream Shooting is a competition based on getting the highest score. You and your friends will try to hit a variety of targets hidden around a Japanese manor. Bonus points are awarded for hitting the rare flying kites that appear.

Dream Karate has a bit less to do with karate and more to do with trying to take over as many squares on the floor as you can. You can take over your opponents' squares by taking them down with some quick attacks.

Dream Racing introduces hoverboards in to the Olympic experience. Players will race through downhill courses filled with power-ups and obstacles. Tricks will give you a bit of a speed boost. The first to the bottom is the winner.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on November 5, 2019. It will include local multiplayer for up to 4 players and online multiplayer for up to 8 players. It includes 3 fantasy games, 10 2D games, and 21 3D events.
