On the last day of July, Sega put out the call to all Sega fans to share their own stories involving the Genesis. They asked and you answered. Today, Sega revealed the "Our Genesis Story" ahead of the release of the Genesis Mini on September 19, 2019.

It's been about 30 years since the Genesis was initially released. The console was made and sold from 1988 through to 1997. That's one hell of a long lifetime for a console. To say that it had a few fans would be a bit of an understatement.

These are some of the clips fans shared with Sega for this clip video. The Sega Genesis Mini will include 42 classic games when it releases.

We sent out the call, and you took it to the next level. A couple weeks ago, we asked our fans to share their story about what the SEGA Genesis meant to them. Whether it was the tale of how you woke up one morning to find the system wrapped and waiting to be opened, or how it was your bonding experience that brought the family together, it is clear the Genesis still holds a very special place in the hearts of many in the gaming community.

For those who grew up with a Genesis in their household or if this is the first time you're getting a chance to check out its library, we hope the upcoming release of the SEGA Genesis Mini will help make new memories!

We would also like to give thanks to some of our special guests who contributed to our video compilation including Tom Kalinske, Al Nilsen, Peter Moore, Blake J. Harris, Greg Miller, and The Completionist.
