If you wanted yet another hint that Rockstar is probably going to bring Red Dead Redemption 2 to the PC, well, you got it. It seems as though a PC release of the game is more a matter of "when" and less a matter of "if" at this point.
Twitter user JakoMako51 passed along a little discovery earlier today. When browsing through the source code on the Rockstar Social Club, they noticed a new listing for PC "Accomplishments" for Red Dead Redemption 2. Accomplishments in this case are probably the equivalent to the PlayStation 4 Trophies or Xbox One Achievements, both of which are also mentioned and found in the same source code.
It's possible that a PC release is still coming for the game. Obviously, a lot of signs are pointing in that direction. Given how Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto V for the PC after a cross-gen console release schedule, that could happen again here. Perhaps they are again going to do the same thing. If so, the PC release won't happen until a potential re-release on the next-gen consoles in 2020 or later. Why double dip when you can triple dip? The original release of Red Dead Redemption 2 came about on October 26, 2018.
There is also the issue in which the latest high-profile Take-Two releases are Epic Games Store timed exclusives. These games include the upcoming The Outer Worlds and Borderlands 3. I have a feeling that, should a Red Dead Redemption 2 PC release happen, its "exclusivity" to a PC platform may depend on how well those two titles sell.
This is actually one of the times where i wouldn't mind if the Steam release was delayed a year, i'm going to need a new PC for RDR2.
