Another recent update to the Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition drivers (I seriously hate that stupid name) broke DirectX 9 functionality in a number of older titles. Broken in the sense that you couldn't play some of these older games. Thankfully, AMD just released a new alpha driver version for their video cards that fixes it.

The 18.1.1 Alpha release of the Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition (-_-) should fix those DirectX 9 issues right up.
Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.1.1 Alpha Highlights
This early access driver is being provided for users who have had issues launching a small number of DirectX 9 based games. This alpha driver has not been fully tested by AMD and is not recommended for general use.

Package Contents
The Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.1.1 Alpha installation package contains the following:

Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.1.1 Alpha Driver Version 17.50.07.02 (Windows Driver Store Version 23.20.15007.2002)

As with all alpha releases, you should download these at your own risk. You can do so now or wait however long for the non-alpha release to come out. It's up to you.
