The Witcher 3 on the PlayStation 4 just got that much better for those of you rocking a PlayStation 4 Pro console. CD Projekt RED released a patch today that includes 4K support along with a very slight boost to performance.

The actual update is relatively small, so I wouldn't fret too much about it killing your bandwidth. However, since updates are usually cumulative when being calculated, you will need something like 20GB of free space on your storage device.

People are already busy arguing about if it's true 4K or if it's using checkerboard rendering. They're talking about what the internal resolution is, and so on and so forth. Also, we cannot forget about some people encountering new performance drops while playing at the "4K" resolution. I'll just let the technical experts take a deep dive into this patch to see what's going on.

Whatever is or isn't happening as a result of this patch was no doubt done in preparation for the upcoming support for the Xbox One X next month.
