ArenaNet announced the second expansion for Guild Wars 2 today. Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire will take players back to the Crystal Desert. Remember that place?The expansion is apparently just a hop, skip, and a jump away as it's slated to be released on September 22.

Players continue to evolve and customize their level-80 characters with new elite specializations for each profession. A variety of new playstyles, weapon choices, and traits to choose from result in more options than ever to play.
Free Preview Weekend
An open-world preview weekend will run August 11-13, available to anyone with a Guild Wars 2 account in good standing. Players will be able to experience part of the opening story of Path of Fire, and explore the Crystal Oasis map astride the raptor mount.

ArenaNet has already made the expansion available for pre-order. Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire comes in a Standard version with the game and a max level boost for $29.99 (USD). There is a Deluxe edition with the game, boost, additional character slot, Identity Repair Kit, Spearmarshal's Presence, and Lily of the Elon Permanent Pass for $54.99. The Ultimate version at $79.99 includes everything in the Deluxe Edition plus 4,000 Gems.
