ArenaNet and NCSOFT just announced that a new expansion kicks off on August 22nd for Guild Wars 2. This expansion, Secrets of the Obscure, takes players to the skies above Tyria, where a new enemy has emerged from the Mists.

Guild Wars 2 is making the jump from DirectX 9 to supporting DirectX 11 in a future update. Senior Engine Programmer James Fulop took to the Guild Wars 2 website today to talk about what this means for players.

We received word today that the first episode for the newest Living World chapter for Guild Wars 2 is about to be released on November 19. On Tuesday, November 19 the first full chapter of The Icebrood Saga will be released. On May 14, Guild Wars 2 will once again get some new content. This marks the release date of the Living World Season 4, Episode 6 entitled "War Eternal." The Warclaw is a new and somewhat fearsome feline mount for Guild Wars 2. Slated to arrive on February 26, this mount is obtainable via the World vs. World PvP mode. However, once you earn it, you can summon it anywhere and everywhere that other mounts are able to be summoned.

The Warclaw has some special abilities including Evade, Battle Maul, and Chain Pull. These can prove to be quite useful in a variety of World vs. World scenarios. It will be made available to everyone...
