Telltale Games announced today that they are working on The Walking Dead: The Final Season with hopes of getting it out some time in 2018. That's currently the working title for it, so I'm sure the final one won't be quite as on the nose as "The Final Season" is.In a series retrospective released today in celebration of Comic-Con through Telltale's Summer 2017 Update, the development team at Telltale sat down to reflect on the journey of series protagonist 'Clementine' since the first episode premiered in April of 2012. In discussing the character's path all the way through 2017's conclusion of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, Telltale confirmed that this fourth and final season would focus on Clementine in the lead role, allowing players to fully step back into the shoes of the fan favorite character.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season will be released in 2018 for consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android platforms. They say that "additional platforms are yet to be announced" so you Nintendo Switch and Virtual Boy owners out there may still get lucky yet.
This has been an awesome ride (though the choices admittedly barely mattered for some parts), and ending it next season seems fitting for me. I think this cash cow has been sufficiently milked. Now if they do a spinoff series... I'll be pissed.
