If you wanted more Sleeping Dogs then do I ever have good news for you. If you wanted Sleeping Dogs 2 then continue to be disappointed. According to Deadline.com, a Sleeping Dogs film staring Donnie Yen is in the works.Yen, who recently co-starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and xXx: Return of Xander Cage, follows an undercover police officer (Yen) on a mission to take down one of the most powerful and dangerous criminal organizations in the world: the notorious Triads. The movie based on an action video game is set in Hong Kong and focuses on martial arts fighting, racing, boat chases … and shooting while doing all of that.
The film is coming from Neal Moritz. Moritz is perhaps best known for his work on the Fast & Furious franchise, S.W.A.T., 21 Jump Street, the Prison Break TV series, and is also working as a producer on an upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film (I kid you not). So there's a decent chance that the Sleeping Dogs movie might actually turn out good.
