Update: Nintendo released an update on Google Play Store. It seems the securities on anti-rooting are removed, because rooted phones no longer crash when running the app. Furthermore, I can't seem to reproduce the audio glitches that would normally freeze the app (voice speech plays normally too without distortion). The update notes only says "Fixed issues," but it looks like a lot of the problems people had since Japan's launch (people got impatient and sideloaded the Japanese version, where they discovered it's the same app as what we had at launch, including language options) have been addressed so far. Do note that although the app's download is 31.76 MB for Android, the app takes up 516 MB after installing, so check your phone's storage space. I also have a few side notes I forgot to mention before. First, you can do face petting in Miitomo. Take that as you will. Next, you can also have a free-floating mole near your Mii. I treat mine as a flying pet several inches away from my head that looks like a giant dot. And finally, I don't see any censorship restrictions in the voice speech system. I put in profanity, and I could preview it fine. I didn't save it figuring Nintendo can ban me after finding out somehow. Anyway, have fun with that.

Heads up for Android users. The app is designed to crash on rooted phones, because Nintendo assumes rooted users will cheat the currency system and unlock everything unfairly. So unfortunately, if your phone is rooted then Nintendo hates you and is deliberately keeping you out of Miitomo (other Nintendo mobile games also have limited functionality for those on rooted phones). Even more unfortunate is how the app isn't very compatible with several phones including OnePlus One, Nexus 5, etc. regardless of whether they are rooted or not. I suspect the app's securities on anti-rooting is causing these issues, because their crashes look very similar. The current workaround is to adjust your phone to prove you are no longer rooted and play within Nintendo's rules (and other companies who hate rooting). I refuse to go into detail on that as it is for advanced users who ironically know how rooting works.

When linking your Nintendo Account to Miitomo, do note that the Dolphin Browser will give you an error. Copying and pasting that URL to Chrome, and then logging in from Chrome and linking to Miitomo will work. I don't know why Dolphin doesn't work, though I did have an ad blocker installed for Dolphin, whereas I have nothing for Chrome.

And finally, this app on my phone is less stable than Fallout 4. If you're creating a Mii, I strongly suggest you import from Nintendo Account or a QR Code (or create one from Nintendo Account if you don't have anything to import), because that app is on a timer to crash from audio issues. If the background music finishes playing (will sound like it naturally ends) before you finish creating your Mii, you are screwed and will freeze the app if you proceed to the next screen. The only workaround when the music stops is to force stop the app, and run it again, and restart creating your Mii. I've recreated my Mii no less than nine times as a result of this stupidity (I pick a detail, crash, restart, catch up, pick a detail, crash, restart, catch up...). Eventually I memorized what I wanted and raced against time to finish my Mii... Only to see a bunch of choices for the Mii's voice. So more crashing and restarting later, the Mii gets created and saved. Also, don't prematurely stop a voice speaking. It'll glitch the audio up and can even cause an audio loop (fixable by getting any voice speaking).

All this just to find out my Mii will remain a loner as I don't use social media. F***...
