For January 2016, the NPD found that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 outsold the competition on the software side of things. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 4 once again was the best selling hardware platform. Compared to 2015, hardware sales were down 15%, retail game sales were down 10%, and game sales in general were down 4%.
