A new video came out that shows off some of the features and content that will be included in the Season Pass or Rainbow Six Siege. Since all future maps for the game will be free, the Season Pass is a bit unlike any others out there.

In fact, one of the things it includes is a permanent boost to Renown. Renown is the in-game currency that is used to unlock upgrades and cosmetics. That's right, by purchasing the Season Pass, you will get a jump start on unlocking new gear before non-Season Pass owners can.

Beyond that, the Pass also includes early access to new operators (one week), free instant unlock of new operators, exclusive weapon skins, and even more bonus Renown and XP by way of added daily challenges.

The payment options for this game are so bizarre. It's a $60 game with an optional $30 Season Pass. The base game will get you access to most of the content including all maps for no added cost. The Season Pass gives you a jump start on unlocking much of that free in-game content along with a few cosmetics for $30. I'm not entirely sure this game needed a Season Pass.
