John Smedley hasn't exactly had it easy these past few months. It should perhaps then come as no surprise that Smedley has decided to step down as the CEO and President of Daybreak Game Company (formerly SOE).

A spokesperson for Daybreak issued a short comment on the move.
"I can confirm that John Smedley will be taking some time off from the company for the near-term and transitioning to a different role to be determined. Upon finalization of his plans, further communication will be provided."

It isn't yet known what Smedley will do now. All that is known is that he will take on a different role with different responsibilities at Daybreak. Smedley has been quite quiet on Twitter, having apparently made his last tweet on the social network back on July 14.
