  • Dolphin Emulator Contributor Rachel Bryk Passes Away

Rachel Bryk, a regular contributor to the development of the Dolphin emulator passed away on April 23 at just 23 years old. The Dolphin team wrote up a fantastic memorial post about Bryk's life and shared some kind words from friends and those that knew her.

Rachel worked hard to provide tool-assisted speedrunners (TAS) the support needed to get the Wiimote working properly with Dolphin. She also helped work on improving savestates, netplay, the UI, and more.
Beyond that, she was a face constantly within our community, and bridged the gap between Dolphin and TASing communities. She regularly helped users in the IRC, forums, reddit, and beyond, and was one of the most helpful developers we've ever had.

Thanks to RachelB, Dolphin, as software and as a community, has improved a lot over the past few years. And she will be missed greatly by everyone. We are stronger, better people thanks to knowing her.

Our condolences to Rachel's friends, family, and all of those who knew her.

Dolphin Emulator No Longer Coming to Steam (Updated)

You'll never guess who's to blame.

Update May 27 at 2:00PM (ET): According to several sources, the issue isn't with the Dolphin Emulator per se, but rather the fact that the Dolphin team includes the Wii decryption key, aka: Wii common key, with their releases of Dolphin. This is obviously a big "no-no" as those are Nintendo property and are used to break DRM for Wii titles.

You can see at least one take on this from Modern Vintage Gamer on YouTube starting at...

Total Gaming Network Now on OpenCritic
      by Shawn Zipay
Recently, OpenCritic kicked off their new Contributor Program. In short, it's a way for OpenCritic to bring to light a plethora of reviews from sites that aren't quite as big and all reaching as the IGNs and GameSpots of the world. It's a great way for sites like Total Gaming Network to get our reviews out there to perhaps help a larger audience make an informed decision on whether or not a game is worth spending money on. To be very clear, the scores of those enrolled in the Contrib...
