You may not know their name but chances are you know their games. Zombie Studios is closing up after over 20 years in the industry. They are the studio that brought us the free-to-play Blacklight: Retribution. They have also developed various entries in the Spec Ops franchise, the Saw games, Daylight, and Zork Nemesis just to name a few of their contributions.

Zombie Studios was founded in 1994 by Mark Long and Joanna Alexander. The two have decided to retire and bring about the end of the Zombie Studios story.

Right now, the future of Blacklight: Retribution has been passed on to Builder Block Games, a new studio made up of former employees from Zombie Studios. Builder Box Games issued a brief statement about their plans for the future of the game.
What does this mean for you the fan? While ownership of the game has changed, the people behind the scenes who have been constantly contributing to the Blacklight universe for the last four years remains intact. Builder Box will be working with Perfect World so that, as a fan, you can look forward to more updates and exciting changes in the coming year.

Thanks for the good times and good memories, Zombie Studios. I may be one of the few ones here whom has ever played it, but I really enjoyed the time I spent with Zork Nemesis back in the 90's.
