The Evil Within was the "highest-selling first month of sales for (a) new survival horror IP." Sunset Overdrive for the Xbox One is nowhere to be seen on the list, but if they took into account individual SKUs, it would come in at the ninth spot on the list. In addition, the software list does not include any sales figures for games that were included in bundles with systems.

Compared to last year at the same time, overall retail sales are down just under 1%, software sales are down 28%, and hardware sales are up 59%.
