Blizzard has just announced a new entry into the competitive FPS field. They're calling it Overwatch and it will be a team focused FPS with an emphasis on capturing control points.
The hook? It pits superheroes against supervillains. The game has a decidedly Team Fortress 2-esque approach to style and presentation. The characters are also quite varied including a robot that can turn itself into a turret, a gunslinger that can dual-wield weapons, a wall climbing ape, and more.
The game is slated to be released in a very generic 2015 window. There is a panel for the game coming up in the next ten or so minutes, so there may be some more information revealed there. Those attending BlizzCon this week will get a chance to play it on one of the 600 or so demo units they have set up for the game on the show floor.
