I'm not really sure if this is news. Is this news? I don't even know anymore since I can't even remember the last time I set foot inside a GameStop. However, it seems as though it's worth at least mentioning that all 6,600 GameStop stores will be closed on Thanksgiving. They're doing this out of "respect of (their) store associates."
At GameStop we often use the phrase “protect the family” in reference to our business. A large part of what that means to us is to not open any of our GameStop, SimplyMac, Spring Mobile or Cricket Wireless U.S. locations on Thanksgiving Day out of respect for our store associates and their families and friends. We believe it’s the right decision not only for our employees, but also for our customers. Enjoy this time with your loved ones (...)

Aw, how nice of them! I wonder if they'll be closed on Black Fri-
(...) and we’ll see you on Black Friday.

Alright then.

So enjoy that time with your family and friends on Thanksgiving because once that clock strikes midnight on Friday, you better be ready to work your ass off.
