If you had hopes of the TV series more closely following the games than the movies, think again. Constantin said that the series would be a spin-off of the Resident Evil films. They also note that the TV series won't come until after the last Resident Evil film is released. The last film is entitled Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

I can't imagine RE having a continuous storyline, the games switch characters, locations and zombie science nearly every time, and the movies also switch scenarios fairly drastically.
But then, i suppose there's currently a Batman tv series without Batman... isn't there.
