4J Studios revealed that while Sony was testing the PS4 version of Minecraft they encountered some issues that need to be rectified before the game can be released. 4J mentioned this in a Tweet earlier today.

The game was slated to ship on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Vita platforms this month. It is currently not clear if the Xbox One version is still going to come out this month or if the issues with the PlayStation version will set back that release as well. Assuming the issues are easily fixed, there's still hope for a holiday filled Minecraft on current-gen platforms.
