Despite EA's good will in offering a free copy of The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection to everyone, it seems as though the nasty DRM known as SecuROM is included in the install.
Reclaim Your Game has discovered the presence of the dreaded copy protection system, SecuROM, after digging through the files for the game. They say that they have found no issues as a result of it being included and also note that it is entirely possible it is simply left over from the original release of the game.
However, if you don't want SecuROM on your system no matter what, Reclaim Your Game offers up some instructions on how to fully remove it from your system after uninstalling The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection.
