GameStop has announced their plans to close at least 120 of their 6,457 retail locations. Their new focus, one that CEO Paul Raines calls "GameStop 3.0," is on mobile gaming.
The company plans to shift more of their focus on to mobile and Apple devices. As such, GameStop plans to open between 200 and 250 Spring Mobile stores, which effectively doubles the 164 current locations for that particular retailer. Simply Mac will see an additional 20-25 store locations added. Another 100-150 Cricket locations will join the 31 current locations.
Each of those new store openings has a focus on mobile gaming, mobile hardware, and wireless.
