A $1.65 million lawsuit is underway from Blizzard against Unico Interactive for allegedly making a clone of Hearthstone. Unico's game is called Legend of Crouching Dragon, and Blizzard says elements from that game infringes on their rights.
Blizzard, and their Chinese licensing partner, NetEase, point out clear similarities in the layout, interface, and the visual style of both games. Legend of Crouching Dragon has been in a beta stage for several months while Hearthstone just went to a free open beta yesterday.
Legend of Crouching Dragon is out for iOS and Android devices while Hearthstone will not have a mobile release until later this year.
A Chinese knockoff of another product? Unheard of. It's almost as if CHINA DON'T CARE.
