It's a long read but it's worth it...
Valve began making comics for Team Fortress 2 way back in 2009. They began as a series dedicated to providing lore and teases for major new updates that were coming out for the class-based competitive multiplayer shooter.
In 2013, Valve eventually kicked off a new series of Team Fortress comics that told an ongoing story of the eternal war between Red and Blu, the hunt for Australium, and just generally provided a ton of added in-universe lore to this world that Valve has built up.
Prior to today, the last issue came out in January 2017. After seven full years, almost eight years really, Valve finally released a new issue of their comic series.
TF Comics #7: The Days Have Worn Away is now available for everyone to read. It is a long one, but it's worth the read if you were, or still are, a fan of Team Fortress 2. It seems like this issue may serve as the finale for the comic series. Hell, it may even be a hint that further developments on the game itself have come to an end, at least as major updates are concerned.
I haven't played Team Fortress 2 in a few years now, but this was still very much worth reading through.

Update (April 22, 2020 at 9:18PM ET): According to a statement issued to PC Gamer from Valve, the leaked code is only for CS:GO, but it does include "very old pieces of Team Fortress 2." Valve says that they will continue to investigate.

Edit: My browser crashed and I lost my two paragraphs gushing over this comic concluding Team Fortress 2's story arc. So I'll say this instead. I looked at the URL after I was done reading it, and realized I clicked 330 times... And at no time did I feel like the story was dragging on. While it does not mean 330 pages were produced (dynamic panels are a storytelling device in TF2 comics, so a click can do anything from reveal a panel, change a revealed panel, or turn a page), it does mean this was probably an on and off project that didn't start recently. And given its consistent art style, it doesn't look like they changed contractors to draw the comic either. And it also means the pacing of the conclusion wasn't rushed, shoe-horned in, nor forced to give Team Fortress 2's story arc the closure I've wanted for literal years now. It even does a reveal on something I wasn't expecting (NO, NOT THAT REVEAL). I lost track of time and had no idea how long I spent reading the comic... And I don't regret it. This really is worth reading. And I think I agree, this may be the end of Team Fortress 2, but in a satisfying way.
The website made fun of how long it took for them to finally finish the comic series, but they did cheekily celebrate beating the construction of the Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família. And the comic archive page is also updated with a new description commemorating the lore that was built over time since the beginning of Team Fortress 2 (and I suppose Team Fortress Classic since they're SOMEHOW in-universe - confusingly TFC takes place years before TF2), and even admitting how absurd and substantial the lore became. And most importantly, there are no more COMING SOON comics. Of course, it would be even more absurd to believe for a moment that the Team Fortress franchise simply ended, wouldn't you agree? Maybe within a decade we'll get a teaser on the next installment of Team Fortress.
Oh and I have no idea what the cover pages means. There's like, three of them, and they're all contradictions both fate and timeline-wise. And it doesn't even get mentioned in the actual story. Or is it supposed to be an arbitrary reference to... I dunno... Batman? And I'm confused about Kotaku's spoiler. Um, I didn't interpret it that way, unless it was implied something happened before it became someone else's.
Huh... I ended up reiterating most of what I originally wanted to say. Cool. Anyway, I will join in and also say read the comic. It's worth your time.
